Meeting Recap

  • News and information
    • Ann and the Health Department received the Smart Communities Innovation Challenge Grant
    • Vendor Pool RFP will be released in early 2017
    • Draft legislation for giving the state authority to submit BAS information to the Census Bureau on behalf of cities and counties is still being worked on
    • Bismarck-Mandan imagery/elevation data has been received
  • Parcels
    • The proof of concept continues with the data being on the GIS Hub database
    • The GISTC would like to see the landowner's name being part of the data
    • Once a web app has been built, that will be shared with the 5 counties who have provided their data for the proof of concept
  • GISTC Activities Report
    • This report is in lieu of having the full GISTC meeting
    • Bob displayed the draft is still being worked on
  • Feature Datasets
    • Discussion about what we should do with the feature datasets, to keep them or not
    • After some discussion we agree to keep the feature datasets for now, possibly considering renaming them to follow ISO conventions
  • Disaster Recovery
    • Need to identify data priorities and list assumptions
    • The main concern is whether or not there are any critical applications or uses of spatial data; use that information to verify that the necessary resources are in place
  • Imagery Proposal
    • We received an unsolicited proposal for imagery from Planet Imagery.  Looks interesting but no budget at this time.
  • Executive Order
    • The current Executive Order that we operate under is still valid and applicable, but some of the text is becoming dated.
    • After some discussion we determined that we'd revisit this sometime next year once the new Governor has been in office for a time.
