Meeting Recap

  • Panel presentations have recently been provided to the ND Association of Assessing Officers and the ND League of Cities.  The purpose of these is to express the need of several state agencies to obtain more accurate and more current city boundary data.
  • Invitation to be part of the ND GIS Users Conference has been sent out.  Four people have expressed interest.
  • Reviewed key parts of GIS Strategic Plan.  Focus will be on database-related issues this summer.  Main items include
    • Conversion of aerial photography from ArcSDE to ArcGIS Server
    • Implementation of Active Directory access
  • Reviewed status of Hub Portal.  Need to clean up some of the links/buttons to make it easier to understand and use.  Metadata authoring will happen in ArcCatalog and then via a script, exported to XML and HTML for use in the Hub Portal.
  • The Geological Survey is planning to create quad maps using LiDAR data collected by the State Water Commission
  • Parcels
    • Planning to continue testing concept of using Esri's Community Parcels
    • Discussed obtaining options for potentially obtaining parcel data from a vendor for internal use
