  • News and Information
    • Historical imagery has been updated to fix nearly all of the missing areas, just a few, small areas remain
    • 2017 NAIP is available as a web service, but that will be updated when the GeoTiffs come in
    • NGS liaison plans to be on-site to discuss the new datum
  • Main Street Initiative
    • website is now available
    • A number of datasets are being identified that will be used to feed reporting tools
    • Metadata will be key to document these datasets, e.g., date/time stamp and use limitations
  • Datum/Coordinate System
    • The GIS website references the state coordinate system in Century Code
    • It would likely help users and the vendor community if there was more clarity and details
    • This clarity will also assist when the new datums come out
    • More discussions will be had, including updating the GIS website to have additional details
  • Geo-Enabled Elections NSGIC Project
    • The National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC) has received a grant to assist in integrating GIS into state election systems
    • Address points and precinct boundaries are two primary datasets
    • This will be worth following
  • GISER Inventory
    • This is the Emergency Response database, and was originally set up for flood fighting
    • It's designed as a means to assist others, e.g., those in the EOC from federal agencies, to have access to pertinent data
    • Over the years it's become filled with a number of layers, some of which are duplicated elsewhere
    • A number of layers will be identified to determined if they should be removed
  • Training
    • Looking to set up an instructor-led class
    • An email will be sent out, asking for what classes are of interest
    • State agencies need to be in a class before that class can be had; cities and counties will be invited to participate
